Wild Wonderful West Virginia

Katie, Jax, and Charlie made it back safe & sound from their weekend trip to WV.  It was a winter wonderland.  It looks like a good time was had by all.  I can't wait to see that kind of snow if VA.  And by the looks of it, Jax felt right at home snuggled up on a chilly day.

My wife left me.....just for a weekend trip

It's Saturday night, 11:30pm and I'm lost!  Not in the way you'd expect but I'm sitting at the house and I'm not sure what I'm suppose to be doing.  For the last 2 months I've always had something I was suppose to be doing.  But Katie, Jackson, and even Charlie are all in WV spending time up on Sherwood Mountain with the family.
I told her before she left to please be very careful, she has my entire life in that car; My wife, my son, and my dog!  Not to mention our new pack-and-play.
I'm sure Kate will bring back some good pictures from the weekend so stay tuned.

Katie is home and doing great

We wanted to take a moment and thank all our family and friends for your prayers and well wishes.  Katie's surgery went great.  We sat, with an unsettling anxiousness until our surgeon appeared and gave us the famed "Fonz" two thumbs up.  It's very comforting when an overly confident surgeon comes out so pleased with himself that he's struck with a childish grin.

He removed the entire mass without complication.  Its connection to the arteries, nerves, and veins made this procedure delicate.

When Katie left Pre-op for the surgery room she was talking to the nurses about Jackson.  And for the loved ones left to wait, that gave us a real sense of peace that she was going into surgery focused on what she loves, our new son!

After the surgery, you are always concerned about what type of condition you'll find your loved one in.  When we arrived in her recovery room her first response to our presence was to wiggle her tongue at her dad.  A sign that the nerves were not damaged....or more so, a sign that she would be just fine and that we could all take a deep breathe and relax.

Katie is at home now and mom, dad, and son couldn't be happier.

Ladies Night

The Sherwood, Dady, and Stephens' ladies came to pay us a visit.  They couldn't wait to meet Jackson.  So Pam, Linda, Kim, Sandy, Sarah, and Anna decided to take a road trip and come see us.  They left Pittsburgh early Sunday morning and made it to town around 1pm.  It was great.  Jackson was sleepy for the first hour or so but as everyone sat down to lunch Jackson woke up a bit more interactive with his Great Aunt's and Second Cousins.  Unfortunately, the day went by too quickly and before we knew it, it was 5pm and the ladies had to head back.  I think everyone had a great time.  I know Jackson did!

A FAMILY DIVIDED.....on Monday Night Football

Tonight my wife and I stand divided.  We find ourselves on opposite sides of this battlefield.  My wife, decorated in her beloved black and gold.  Myself, painted in the burgundy and gold of the redskins of old.  We size each other up.  Both hoping to capitalize on the others weakness.  Tonight, her #1 defense will prepare to stand strong against my #1 rusher.   May the best team win.

PS.  Jackson can't decide so he's bipartisan

Happy Halloween...from Jackson

Jackson,
This was your first halloween.  Mom dressed you up as a turkey.  You were soooo happy.  You sat outside on the front porch with mom, dad, and charlie and helped pass out candy to all the bigger kids.  You did a great job and everyone thought you had the best costume.  We love ya little turkey!!

Now we're rolling

So here's where we're at now in early October.  We finally got going, weather is cooperating and we've just about got the house framed up.  Soon we'll start the hvac, plumbing, and electrical work inside.  We'll also begin the roof, brick, and siding in the week to come.  Keep you fingers crossed that we don't get a hurricane, nor'easter, blizzard, tornado, earthquake, dust storm, wild fire, hail, lightning, flood, 'el nino, or any other type of crazy thing mother nature can throw at us!!

Just add water!!!

You must be kidding me..... after a hurricane and 7 inches of water, we get a Nor'easter and an additional 4 inches....COME ON!!!

Lets start building

After two weeks of cleaning up water, our house package is on the ground and ready to start

THANK YOU HURRICANE HANAH!!!

This is what happens when a hurricane dumps over 7 inches of rain and you've got an exposed foundation
