Katie is home and doing great

We wanted to take a moment and thank all our family and friends for your prayers and well wishes.  Katie's surgery went great.  We sat, with an unsettling anxiousness until our surgeon appeared and gave us the famed "Fonz" two thumbs up.  It's very comforting when an overly confident surgeon comes out so pleased with himself that he's struck with a childish grin.

He removed the entire mass without complication.  Its connection to the arteries, nerves, and veins made this procedure delicate.

When Katie left Pre-op for the surgery room she was talking to the nurses about Jackson.  And for the loved ones left to wait, that gave us a real sense of peace that she was going into surgery focused on what she loves, our new son!

After the surgery, you are always concerned about what type of condition you'll find your loved one in.  When we arrived in her recovery room her first response to our presence was to wiggle her tongue at her dad.  A sign that the nerves were not damaged....or more so, a sign that she would be just fine and that we could all take a deep breathe and relax.

Katie is at home now and mom, dad, and son couldn't be happier.
